ViDock 2, the external Video Card solution from Villagetronic, is a new way to bring enhanced graphic processing power to your mobile computer. It is reasonably priced, so you won't have to purchase an expensive (usually priced over a thousand dollars) gaming notebook to play the latest 3D games. You can also perform power demanding content creating tasks on your laptop with the peace of mind that you won't over-stress the machine.
How the ViDock 2 works:
The Villagetronic ViDock 2 external video card solution for laptops consists of three portions: the chassis, the video card, and the control board that resides in the chassis. The elegant silver chassis is built with thick metal. Working with the included 37cfm ball bearing fan, the ViDock 2 can make sure the heavy duty video card stays cool while operating inside. You can install your own PCI-Express video card into the ViDock 2 chassis (which can be sold separately without the video card installed), or you can buy a pre-installed ViDock 2. The built-in control board utilizes the super fast Express Card interface to communicate with your laptop. Using the display configuration panel in Windows 7, you can easily set the display output to the 2nd screen connected to the ViDock 2 and start to enjoy the high graphic and video quality.
Designed for Gamers:
ViDock 2 has solved the two major issues in mobile gaming machines: no possible to upgrade the video card, and higher costs compared to that of the equal performance desktop machine. Video cards usually evolve a new generation each year. Gamers who use notebooks would not be able to catch up with the recent development due to the fact that their notebooks cannot be upgraded. Now, with the availability of the ViDock 2, they don't need to invest in new gaming laptops every year. They can simply swap the installed video card in ViDock 2 for a new one. It is obviously a more economical solution.
Boost 3D Performance:
When plugged into a 2 year old laptop with a discrete video card (Dell Inspiron 1420, Intel Core 2 Duo T7250, 2GHz, 2MB Cache 1GB @ 667MHz), 3D Mark 2006 shows the machine improved by 400% in 3D performance. When plugged into one of todays mainstream laptops, the machine can achieve benchmarks over 8000 Marks.
