As of April 21st, 2008, Skype Pro is no longer offered by Skype and has been replaced by a monthly subscription plan.
Follow these links to get the official descriptions of Skype Pro in US.
Here are some tidbits I collected over the past months:
- In Skype Pro, you "pay nothing per minute for calls to landlines when you travel within these 28 countries." Calls to cellular phones are not included and in any case, you still have to pay connection fees. Furthermore, the call must be within the same country.
- For transferred calls, connection fees and per-minute charges apply.
- Skype ToGo has local numbers only in certain countries, e.g. Australia, Chile, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Poland, Sweden, UK and USA. You can have only one international phone number.
- Skype Pro offering is country specific. Make sure you are looking at the right one.
- Skype to Skype transfers is available to all users, however SkypeIn to SkypeOut or Skype to SkypeOut transfers will require Skype Pro.
- Payments for Skype Pro are not Skype credits and they will not show up as such in your account statement.
- Logon to your account in www.skype.com to check your account history and status. This is a good way to see if you have successfully signed on to Skype Pro. If the data are incorrect, log off and sign on again; this would force the data to be updated.
- You can only use one payment account (e.g. credit card or PayPal) for one Skype account. Do not use the same credit card for two or more Skype accounts. Some had reported that Skype would accept payments for both accounts, but only one would be working.
- If you are a new purchaser of Skype credits, there is a restriction on the purchase amount for the first three months.
- If you need help on how to use a voucher, go to here.
Above all, if you run into problems, listen to some music and have some patience.
