Ans: Click on the history tab, find the "X" on the right hand side on the message, click on the "X" and you can delete the message.

Can I change the welcome message?

Ans: Yes, you can. You can go to Tools -> Options -> Calls -> Voicemail and click the red record button to begin recording. For Mac users, please go to Skype -> Preferences -> Voicemail to do the recording.
